URGENTLY NEEDED ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU OR SEND
Due to popular demand, here is a mishmash wish list to help the willing decide what they would like to do/give/buy/bring for ACODO. From big things all the way down to unexciting practical needs, any of the following would be gratefully and humbly received:
These are the items that we constantly need but are easy and inexpensive to get once you are here:
Food Sustenance: rice (50 kg required daily) (we are facing a lack of food sustenance), noodles, canned fish, etc.
Cooking Ingredients: cooking oil, seasoning, sugar, salt, soy sauce, fish sauce, etc.
Hygiene Products: shampoo, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair combs, hair brushes, etc.
Cleaning Products: bathroom cleaner, dish washing liquid, sponges, cloths, washing powder, etc.
Note: Food Sustenance, Cooking Ingredients, Cleaning Products and Hygiene Products are always needed daily in the orphanage.
Children's Supplies: flip-flops, blankets, mattresses, pillows, shorts/pants, T-shirts, shirts, belts, bath towels etc.
Study Supplies: school uniforms (white shirt and blue shorts/pants/skirts), school bags, whiteboard markers and erasers, graph lined exercise books for Khmer school, pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers, etc.
Stationery & Office Supplies: printing papers (A4), staplers & staples, files, ring binders, folders, hole punches, rubber stamps, tape dispensers, drawing pins, bulldog clips, paper clips, clipboard, etc.
BIG THINGS
Office Equipments: office desks, chairs, computers, printers (for desktop computers it will be cheaper for freight to remove all hardware, such as RAM etc, from the casing, which we can then re-build at ACODO).
Vocational Training Supplies: sewing machines, carving tools etc.
Pickup – approx US $27,000 USD (to do mission in another branch in Oddar Meanchey Province)
Truck - approx $15,500 USD (to be used for a mobile stage to do our fundraising show out of the orphanage during the low season and find donations from the local people instead.
THINGS YOU COULD BRING/SEND FROM YOUR OWN COUNTRY
Please bring items as mentioned above from your own country that you feel appropriate and that would also be needed at ACODO. New or used items are always welcome.
THINGS THAT ARE NOT SUCH A GOOD IDEA TO BRING OR SEND
Skimpy revealing clothes, miniskirts, halter necks, low cut tops (Khmer children are shy and modest)
Synthetic clothes (weather is too hot and sticky)
Playing cards (too reminiscent of the gambling games that contributed to their families demise)
HOW TO MAKE YOUR DONATIONS TO ACODO (MoneyGram/ACODO Bank Account via Swift Code)
You can send your cash donation to ACODO via MoneyGram or our ACODO Bank Account. Please e-mail us at info@acodo.org to advise your name, address, email details and deposit reference number after making your generous donations. This is to enable us to claim the money deposited. We will keep in touch and send you the Credit Advice from the bank.
MoneyGram is the best way to send money as it is cheap, easy and fast. We receive your donations within a minute of you making the deposit. Donations between $1 and $899.00 USD can be sent via MoneyGram at a low cost, though donations over this amount may attract a larger fee. Please note some necessary information required in the transfer form as below for sending via Moneygram:
First name: Hengchhea, Surname: Chheav, Title: Mr

Alternatively, any donation – large or small - can be deposited into the ACODO Bank Account via Swift Code as below. Your donations will reach the ACODO Bank Account within five to seven days. As our bank does not forward the addressee details, it is VERY important for you to email us at info@acodo.org to advise us of your name, email address and the deposit reference number so we can notify you when the money is received as well as thank you for your kind donation.
