ACODO was a charitable non-government organisation. It began in 2002 in Siem Reap town of tourism site. The local branch here came into existence on the 01st January, 2008. The initials ACODO stand for Assisting Cambodian Orphans and the Disabled Organisation. The members here took a vow to look after the education and case of the orphans, the disabled and the poor. It was established by a well intended selfless group of people concerned about the difficulties faced by the orphans, the disabled and indigent families in Cambodia nationwide.

“Assisting Cambodian Orphans and The Disabled Organisation” was established by a well intended selfless group of Cambodian people on the 1st of January 2008 with its influence stretching over Cambodia nationwide. There are 73 people who are fed in ACODO now, which is including the key staff of:
• Two nurses to take care of and provide them 24 hours’ services. • Two cooks to prepare food and dishes washing for them. • Two cleaners to wash the children’s clothes and clean the shelters. • Two security guards to patrol them 24 hours to ensure their secure environment. • One driver to take them to public schools and pick them up. • Three art teachers to teach them Khmer traditional dance and how to play Khmer musical instruments as well. • And four ACODO’s founders to operate and coordinate the projects to go ahead with finding volunteers, funds and financial support.
